"Vernal Equinox: Reimagining Chinatown" is a publication that elucidates the adjustments currently facing Manhattan's Chinatown and presents my response as a graphic designer. These diverse design projects focus on contemporary Manhattan's Chinatown within the contexts of culture, commercialization (gentrification), and ethnic identity amidst the wave of immigration. They explore the adaptations this community is currently undergoing and, from the perspective of a graphic designer, address how design can assist Manhattan's Chinatown in re-establishing connections with contemporary mainstream society.
