Voices of April (四月之声) is a compilation of real audio snippets from conversations recorded in Shanghai throughout April. In China, however, social media postings are highly monitored by the relevant Chinese authorities, and if the social media content involves sensitive political topics, then it is immediately blocked. This book documents the social events in Shanghai during the lockdown, and archives the images and news that have been blocked (all information is from Chinese netizens and foreign news).
