Kantone was inspired by Manhattan's Chinatown. Manhattan's Chinatown is an ethnic enclave that gathers Chinese from all over China, forming a community that is differentiated from mainstream society. Kantone is a typeface that explores how Chinese culture has been replaced in a context dominated by a Western context.
